From 2008-2012, the Advisory Service on Agricultural Research for Development (BEAF/GIZ) and the Robert Bosch Foundation supported the initiation and expansion of scientific cooperation between International Agricultural Research Centers (IARCs) and German agricultural research institutions through ATSAF. Half of the funds were provided by the Robert Bosch Foundation and the other half by the BMZ via BEAF/giz. ATSAF carried out the application procedure and administered the program. With this program, the Robert Bosch Foundation, BEAF/GIZ and ATSAF wanted to internationally strengthen the contribution of German research institutions to solving global development problems. Furthermore, they wanted to anchor the contribution of German research institutions better in the global network of scientific organizations active in this field, and thus institutionalize it further and make it visible. At the same time, it was intended to give German scientists the opportunity to participate in international research collaborations and to network and exchange ideas with colleagues at international level.
Since 2015, ATSAF has been continuing the funding measure from its own funds. Applications will be submitted on the basis of the application guidelines. You can find them here.
